When Rhianne set out into the “real world”, she quickly found herself working 10-hour days and was given more responsibilities without a title or pay change. This led to a vicious cycle of unhealthy habits – like skipping workouts and fueling her body with leftovers and ice cream.
In hopes of creating healthier habits and better relationships with food and exercise, Rhianne started taking “Hot Power Yoga” classes and felt a change instantaneously. Not only did she experience a connection to her body and movement (like her childhood dancing days), but Rhianne also felt happier, more at peace, and started to make better eating habits without trying so hard.
After some time, Rhianne’s dad became ill. That was the moment she knew her passion for living a healthy lifestyle was more than just a personal choice – it was a career endeavor. She committed to helping others reclaim their health—in THEIR way, just like she had done. Health and nutrition became her calling – and her mission-based business, Believe in Your Health, came to fruition. Now, she is an integrative health coach and a 500-hour certified yoga teacher. She offers one-on-one coaching and group programs focused on mindset shifts around food and lifestyle changes.
The Challenge of Accountability for a Solopreneur
Rhianne doesn’t normally categorize herself as a risk taker, but when her dad passed things changed. She knew she needed to follow her passion and make it a career.
“This is what I need to do. I want people to be preventative about their health.”
But as with any new venture, challenges exist and arise over time. Rhianne started her business while her oldest child was a newborn and has since had a second child. Finding work-life balance is an ongoing challenge she faces because she struggles with wanting to do it all.
She shifted her definition of success and used it to drive her decisions.
“Success is continuing to grow my business, while also keeping my family as #1. Being able to pick up my kids from school, go to their sports games, rearrange my schedule when they are sick – just being present with them. That’s really important to me.”
Rhianne decided to onboard a virtual assistant when she needed help with accountability and moving her business forward. She didn’t want to feel alone – she wanted to have someone to talk through ideas with. In addition to that, Rhianne needed help creating course content. Having a VA to assist her with the prep work for her program allowed Rhianne to save her energy to run the program. She also felt that having a VA on her team would level up the professionalism of her business.
Why Rhianne Chose to Partner with RCVA
Rhianne discovered RCVA through her business coach. At first, she decided to work with a solo person instead of an agency – but after being ghosted, Rhianne quickly realized the importance of finding a virtual assistant agency that commits to contractual obligations. She values and appreciates the support, protection, and professionalism that working with an agency like RCVA offers.
At the start of her working relationship with our VA Amanda, it was most important to Rhianne that Amanda got to know the philosophy behind her business. She wanted Amanda to not only be integrated into the culture but understand it. From there, they worked together to create systems to figure out how Amanda could best support her.
“She met me where I was at.”
Consistency on social media was at the top of the list for Rhianne. Amanda created guidelines to not only help get things rolling, but keep them going – focusing on themes, cadence, and hashtags. This has given Rhianne a template to follow, making it much easier for her to come up with content. Amanda then follows through by ensuring Rhianne posts consistently on both social media and her blog. She also uses data analysis to help Rhianne repurpose information and content that has performed well previously. In addition, Amanda is in the process of making sure all of Rhianne’s content is portraying Believe in Your Health’s new branding – including her social media accounts, blog, and course offerings.
The Results: New Ideas & Plans for the Future
“The coolest thing is that I feel like Amanda is a part of Believe in Your Health.”
It helps Rhianne to talk through things going on with her business – new ideas, challenges, plans for the future. Having Amanda as not only a sounding board but also someone who can share valuable insight has been very helpful to Rhianne.
While Rhianne still chooses to take on many of the day-to-day tasks (she likes to be in direct communication with her clients), she has found that Amanda is helping her move the business forward more than she expected. In addition to helping with social media consistency, Amanda has taken on building the Believe in Your Health course and materials, which has given Rhianne the time to focus even more on clients. She feels that having Amanda on her team has aided with the completion of bigger projects within a shorter timeline. As a team, they can work smarter and not harder.
“She’s making it all feel less overwhelming.”
